Up until today I have never had cookies turn out. I love to cook, and I am pretty good at it, but baking is a different story. I have tried many recipes and they were just GROSS. I have never, and I mean NEVER had a better homemade chocolate chip cookie than these. They are delicious. Thank you Jaime for the recipe. I will keep it forever! (I made some slight changes)
Ingredients:
1 cup Butter, softened
1 cup White Sugar
1 cup packed Brown Sugar
2 Eggs
2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
3 cups AP Flour
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
2 teaspoons Hot Water
1/2 teaspoon Salt
2 Cups Semisweet Chocolate Chips
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350.
2. Cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
3. Dissolve baking soda in the hot water. Add this to your batter along with the salt.
4. Stir in flour and then your chocolate chips.
5. Grease your cooking sheet and then sprinkle flour on top. Move the flour around to fully coat the pan and then tip it over to dump the access. Put the cooking sheet in the freezer for 3 minutes so that it is nice and cool. This will help your cookies from starting the cooking process before you put them in the oven.
6. Spoon your batter onto your pan.
7. Bake for about 8 minutes for small cookies, and 10 minutes for large cookies. Pull them out of the oven when they are still soft and just BARELY browning around the edges.
8. Drop your pan flat on your stove so that the cookies will drop flat. Take the cookies immediately off the cookie sheet and put them on a cooling rack to cool.
